Spring is in the air, friends!
The Spring Equinox was this past Thursday, so it’s legit. Only stumbling block as far as I can tell is that it’s supposed to snow this Wednesday. It might be nearing the end of March, but it feels like December.
So, that’s fine. I’m just sitting on the couch under a down comforter, sipping a Spring Fever Mimosa, pouring over the J.Crew resort line, pretending I’m somewhere much, much warmer.
Here are some other seasonally-appropriate activities to keep you occupied until it actually feels like Spring:
1. Start reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. With 784 pages, you might be done by this Fall.
2. Prepare for open-toe shoe season with a pedicure. I’m loving Hey Baby from the Gwen Stefani OPI line.
3. Find cute watering can for Spring gardening.
4. Try a new asparagus recipe – he had me at savory granola.
This is a very pretty drink, which would be perfect for an Easter brunch or a Mother’s Day brunch or any brunch, really. Try using a flavored vodka – raspberry and citron both work well. I like this best when all ingredients are chilled.
Spring Fever Mimosa
1 part vodka
1 part Prosecco (or Champagne)
1 part orange juice
1 dash of grenadine
Combine vodka and orange juice in festive glass of your choice. Top with Prosecco.
Slowly pour the grenadine so that it settles on the bottom. Grenadine is heavier than alcohol, so it will sink, creating the layered effect.
