Last week we left-off with a pretty intense cliff-hanger about doughnuts.
Every Saturday morning I visit the Braintree Farmers Market and peruse the local produce. Every week as I stand in line at the C.N. Smith farmstand I sheepishly admire their apple cider doughnuts. There they sit it in a cute little six pack, waiting to be welcomed into a happy home. Every week I refrain. I try to eat as healthily as I can, but truth be told, I enjoy doughnuts. The heart wants what the heart wants and last week I caved.
On a whim, Michael and I decided to grill them and they were amahzing. The cinnamon sugar coating caramelized and they charred ever so slightly.
We then built ice cream doughnut sundaes, naturally. I whipped some heavy cream with a splash of vanilla extract and two splashes of Baileys Irish Cream and placed a dollop on my plate. I added one doughnut, one scoop of ice cream, some sprinkles and a Maraschino cherry. You should try this.
I’m going to try these next.
